SERVICES
The NVJDC provides secure detention and treatment services for male and female court-ordered residents between the ages of 10-18. The facility offers the following programs: Pre-disposition, Post disposition, Central Admissions and Placement (CAP), and Community Placement Program (CPP).

ABOUT US
The Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center (NVJDC) was dedicated in 1961 and underwent renovations in the 1980s which brought its rated capacity to 70 beds. The facility is one building comprised of five distinct housing units, (one 10 bed unit, two 14 bed units and two 16 bed units), a full-service school operated by the Alexandria Public School system, an indoor gymnasium, cafeteria, medical clinic, and outside recreation areas featuring a basketball court and soccer field.
